The Origin of the Human Design System: Where the Information Came From

As I mentioned in my What is Human Design post, the Human Design System is a combination of the ancient systems of Astrology, the I’Ching, the Kabbalah Tree of Life, and the Vedic chakras, as well as Quantum Mechanics, Astronomy, Genetics, and Biochemistry, but the Human Design system brings it all together to form a new multi-faceted system and body of knowledge that explains and illustrates the mechanics of creation, including how humans are designed and programmed to operate and interact in the world. 

But if you’re reading this post, you’re probably wondering who created the Human Design System, or where the information came from, and the short answer is, it came from “The Voice”. 

Ra Uru Hu & The Voice

The long story? Well in 1987, a man from Montreal Canada who was originally named Alan Robert Krakower had been living at the fringe of society on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza and was going by the name Ra. On the evening of January 3rd 1987, Ra and his dog Barley came home to his little house and had an encounter with what he called “The Voice”. 

As they walked through the door, Ra’s dog dropped to the floor and appeared to be dead, and Ra became drenched with liquid from his own body pouring out from him and making a puddle on the floor. Ra heard the words “are you ready to work?” and for eight straight days and nights, the voice “penetrated” him and revealed scientific information about the origins and workings of the universe and gave him the formula for the Human Design system.

At the end of the eight days and nights, “The Voice” left, and Ra’s dog woke up. As a result of the encounter, Ra was physically and mentally changed, and he also had a title added to his name: Uru Hu, which roughly translates to “civilization closer” which has to do with our transition from 7-Centered beings to 9-Centered beings. After a year of digesting what he had experienced, Ra went on to share the information that he had received from “The Voice” using the full name Ra Uru Hu until his death in 2011. 

Supernova1987A

Soon after Ra’s encounter with the Voice, in February 1987, a supernova was witnessed from a mountaintop observatory in Chile. Just in case you aren’t familiar, a supernova is the death of a star which happens as a huge vast explosion. The death of this particular star (known to scientists as 1987A) was the nearest supernova explosion observed in hundreds of years and the best opportunity yet for astronomers to study the phases before, during, and after the death of a star.

The significance of this event for Human Design is that for 14 minutes, the earth was bombarded with three times as many neutrinos as normal. As I explain in this article, neutrinos play an essential role in how we are programmed as unique individuals, and so this event would have had a huge impact on human consciousness. As Ra said, the Human Design system doesn’t exist because of him, it exists because the world was prepared to receive it.

You Don’t Have to Believe Its Origin Story to Benefit From Human Design

When I first read about the origins of the Human Design System in 2018, I didn’t want to tell it to people. I was so excited about the information and the tools that the Human Design System offered, but a part of me felt that the story of how the information was received would discredit what was such a logical mechanical and useful system. Even Ra himself says that his encounter with “The Voice” sounds crazy and that he actually wondered if he was going crazy. But Ra said that whether people believed his story or not didn’t matter — he had no choice, he couldn’t not share the information that he received.

As he shared the information and taught people how to use the Human Design System, he saw that the results of people applying the Human Design System to their lives spoke for themselves. As Ra said, “the proof of the pudding, as always, lies in the eating” which is to say, you don’t have to believe or have faith in the Human Design system, and you don’t have to believe his story. The information is just there for you to experiment with and see for yourself if it is useful.
