Meet the Designer / About The Method
Hi, I’m Steph — brand & website designer, and founder The Tenth House (among other things). My approach to brand design is inquisitive, holistic, multi-layered, and rooted in my desire to help people cultivate self-awareness, embrace their uniqueness, express themselves, and expand into their infinite potential through creative work, business, and entrepreneurship.
When it comes to website design, I respect and utilize some industry standards and familiar ways of doing things (and the ease of use they bring to the user experience) but I’m also not afraid to ask “why” and challenge the way things are traditionally done in order to build something from the ground up that feels authentically expressive, resonates with your ideal customers & clients, provides your desired client/customer service, and helps you achieve your business goals.
At The Tenth House, websites are built so that when people visit your site, they can immediately feel your brand energy and intuitively know if they resonate with you and your business. Then, as if they were getting a guided tour of your space, I want them to explore your website with ease and curiosity, receive the information that you want them to have about your business and offerings, and feel immersed in your brand world.
To achieve this with the websites that I design and develop, we start by confirming that we have a strong brand foundation to build on, and then ensure that every design decision is reflective of your brand energy, personality, values, ethics, philosophy, vision, mission, and goals — from site structure & layout, to search engine optimization, to how your website looks, sounds, and feels.
Design Style
My website designs are strategic, organized, user-friendly, and intentionally edited for a more minimalist look — but I purposely don’t have a signature style.
What I love about designing for other people and businesses is that I get to put myself in their shoes, immerse myself in their brand, and translate their authentic style and taste into digital form. I don’t want people to visit your website and immediately know who designed it — I want them to visit your digital space and get to know the people and business that operate there.
The Process
The Tenth House website design process is strategic, supportive, intentional, holistic, collaborative, and customized to each client’s unique energy, and neurodiversity.
For some clients, customization to our design process includes looking at their Astrology and/or Human Design charts to learn about they are designed to function, and work with their uniqueness to get the best possible results.

Before we can begin designing your website, we need to have some foundational branding elements to work with, so a thorough brand guide document including information about brand values, energy, and personality + basic brand assets (logo, colour palette, typography) must be submitted and approved before a website design project can be scheduled. Brand Clarity
Website Strategy
Your website design project begins with a website strategy session so that we can review your business and website needs, ask additional questions to get to know you and your business/brand on a deeper level, give you the opportunity to ask questions, and decide on an overall creative direction and functionality plan for your website.
Design & Development
This is the part where I bring our vision and planning to life. I install your website, and design your website pages according to your brand energy, aesthetic, and strategy. We work together with open communication and create something that radiates your brand, serves your customers & clients, and helps you achieve your goals.
Launch & Handover
In this final phase, I launch your website and give you the (digital) keys to your new online home, as well as the tools you need to maintain it. As much as I love working with my clients, I want to foster independence so that they aren't depending on me for minor edits and maintenance they may need in the future. To help with this, I install a user-friendly website platform and design tool combination, set things to automatically update to their most recent version, and provide videos that demonstrate how to make edits to website content.

I created The Tenth House to serve all sorts of open-minded people from diverse backgrounds and industries, but I’ve got a special place in my heart for the artists, the healers, the creatives, the multi-passionate individuals, the non-conforming queer folk, the visionary entrepreneurs, and the scrappy do-it-yourselfers.
My brand design method creates brands that are unique, authentic, and completely custom to each client. What this requires though, is active participation from each client throughout our collaboration. But don’t worry, if we work together, you will be guided, coached, and supported every step of the way. With that being said, if you have no interest in answering introspective questions or providing information about how you want your brand to look, feel, and function, we might not be a good fit. Ultimately, if you are a kind person who resonates with my method, we are probably going to get along, but just to make sure, we will have an intro call as part of the project application process.
